10/21/2015

Comments

Our September 2015 and 3rd Quarter 2015 Crime and Activity Reports are now available for public review on our Crime Stats page.

For Reader's Digest fans:
  • Part I crime was up by 20% (1 incident) from September 2014.
  • Part I crime was down by a little over 3% year to date.
  • Part II crime was up by 60% from September 2014 due mostly to an increase in DUI & narcotics arrests as well as a big increase in vandalism incidents.
  • Part II crime was up by 14% year to date. This is again attributed mostly to big increases in DUI & narcotics arrests as well as increases in fraud and vandalism cases.
  • Officers took 638 traffic enforcement actions resulting in 491 warnings and 147 citations. This amounts to 76.96% warnings and 23.04% citations, which is in the "normal" range.

For the 3rd Quarter:
  • Part I crime was down by 11.54%.
  • Part II crime was up by 5.66%.

Part I, or major, crime has been on a significant downward trend in Tyrone over the past several years. In fact, we ended 2014 with a 52.5% decrease from our all time high of 200 Part I crimes in 2011 and it looks like we are on track to finish strong in 2015 as well:
