Open Data Project:
We receive regular complaints from our citizens about vehicles speeding in their neighborhoods. When those complaints come in, we generally place our Speed Monitoring Awareness Radar Trailer (SMART Unit) in the area to conduct a traffic study. This unit provides us with great information that we can use to determine when and where directed traffic enforcement is necessary and it helps us show complainants whether they have an actual speeding problem on their street or not. Historically, we've only shared the results with complainants and our officers, but we are going to now share all of our studies with you here as part of our Open Data Initiative.
